SRAFFANS: NECK TENTACLES
An integral part of Sraffa communication is gesturing with two damp tentacles which protrude from the base of their neck and double as a bolo tie during business meetings. Even during perfectly calm discussions, Sraffans reinforce their speech with spasmodic flailing of the tentacles, which often flap across the listener's face -- an experience akin to a back-and-forth slapping with a wet washcloth. Sraffans who do business off-world have learned to suppress this tendency.
